PEDS-CODE™ Live Webinar: Coding the Sick Visit

$199.00
Limit 1 per order

Coding, documentation & integrity for the pediatric sick visit.

Sick visits are often moderate complexity, and they’re the hardest to document and code well. Many pediatricians bill a 99213 by default when the work supports a 99214. This live session gives you a clear, defensible way to document and code what you actually did: no higher and no lower.

See the full agenda below.

  • When: Choose one session

    • Tue, Dec 1 7–9 PM ET

    • Wed, Dec 2, 7–9 PM ET

    • Wed, Dec 9, 9:30–11:30 PM ET (6:30–8:30 PM PT)

  • Format: 2-hour live webinar with time for Q&A

  • Included: 6 months of monthly live office hours to bring your coding and documentation questions after the webinar

  • Taught by: Jeanne M. Marconi, MD, FAAP, Founder & Managing Principal, Altura Health Consulting

  • For: Pediatricians, NPs and PAs, plus the billing, coding and practice-management staff who support them

For education only; this is not legal or clinical advice. Payer policies vary. Codes must be supported by medical necessity and documentation.

Full agenda

What you’ll learn

  • Medical decision making, made practical: problems, data and risk (“PDR, the ABCs of coding”), and how meeting 2 of the 3 sets the level

  • What makes a sick visit a 99214: systemic symptoms, undiagnosed new problems, and prescription decisions (including deciding not to prescribe)

  • Getting credit for data: independent historians, point-of-care tests, screening tools and outside discussions

  • Coding by time: the 2024 time thresholds, prolonged-service code 99417, and how to write time statements that hold up in an audit

  • Documentation that supports the level: side-by-side examples of notes that read as low complexity versus notes that support the code, plus ICD-10 order and specificity

  • Coding integrity: how to code accurately and consistently, avoid both undercoding and overcoding, and keep every note audit-ready

  • Adding a sick visit to a well check: when it qualifies and how to use modifier 25

  • AI scribes: six rules to follow before you sign a note it drafted

  • G2211 and other add-on codes

Case workshop

Work through real-world pediatric case families: ear pain, sore throat, COVID-19 and flu, croup, asthma, vomiting and dehydration, head injuries, behavioral health and more. For each one, you guess the code first, then see the one clinical detail that changed it.

You’ll leave with

  • Five details that separate a low-complexity 99213 from a moderate 99214

  • A 20-second check to run before you choose any level

  • Reference grids for MDM and time

Monthly office hours, included

Your registration includes 6 months of monthly live office hours with Dr. Marconi. Bring real coding and documentation questions from your practice, get answers live, and keep your team’s coding accurate as new situations come up.
